Our Story

Our journey began quite differently than most. Initially, Skye and her children dreamed of creating a small hobby farm filled with hens and honeybees, a few goats a grazing, and a big ole garden.

A few months later, with some chicks, a rescue rooster named Fred, and two baby boy goats, Hippie Chick N Farm was born in March 2014.

Skye, affectionately nicknamed "Hippie Chick" by friends over a decade ago due to her love of nature, animals, and the environment, specifically her compulsive recycling, and obsession for all things organic, agreed it would be fitting to name their budding hobby farm, Hippie Chick N Farm.

and in rural South Georgia Our sanctuary is home to over 75 rescued animals, each with their own unique story. our mission transformed in March 2014 when we were asked to rescue a tiny piglet. This pivotal moment led us to become a full-fledged animal sanctuary, obtaining our non-profit status in 2019.

Autumn Skye, the founder and director of FPAS, manages the daily care of our sanctuary residents with dedication and love, supported by a few faithful volunteers, including her teens, Gavin and Summer.

Our eclectic family of rescue animals includes:

• 36+ pot-bellied pigs

• 19 hens

•12 goats

• 11 roosters

• 9 dogs

• 4 big pigs

• 3 donkys

• 3 Peafowl

At Flying Pig Animal Sanctuary, we strongly believe in the importance of spaying and neutering. Every animal on our farm, except for avian, fish, and reptile residents, is or will be fixed.

Our commitment to animal rights and environmental sustainability drives us to live a compassionate, eco-friendly lifestyle. We prioritize recycling, composting, and re-purposing materials, and we are continually expanding our small organic garden to provide fresh produce for our residents.

Each animal at FPAS is treated with love, kindness, and respect, becoming part of our family. Many of our residents have been rescued from neglect, abuse, or abandonment, and here, they find true sanctuary.

We invite you to join us in our mission to provide a safe haven for these wonderful creatures and to promote a humane and compassionate world for all animals.
