Onyx Rose

In November, 2021, the night before Skye's birthday, Skye and her daughter Summer rescued a scrawny, scared kitten they heard meowing from behind a propane tank at a gas station. The kitten was terrified, but Summer managed to scoop her up and carried her home in a tote bag to prevent her from getting loose in the car. The bag acted like a swaddle, comforting the kitten and helping her bond with Summer during the drive home.

Onyx Rose quickly transformed from that frightened, doe-eyed kitten into a feisty, fat floof who does whatever she pleases. She’s notorious for stealing cat food from the other house cats, sleeping in the craziest positions, and keeps everyone laughing. With her tiny, quiet, and adorable meow, and love for snuggling, she’s definitely a favorite around the FPAS house.

Onyx Rose went through a terrible teen phase where she didn’t know how to play without being too rough, and there were times it was joked about returning her to the gas station she came from! Thankfully, she outgrew that stage and is now a big, sweet, lazy floof. She is one of the three indoor/outdoor cats here and can usually be found either lounging in the garden during the day or snoozing on the back of the couch at night.
